The Zionsville Autosport high capacity engine oil cooler fits the 2001-2002 BMW Z3 S54 M Roadster or M Coupe. It will also fit European E36 M3s, vehicles retrofitted with S54 M Roadster radiators or the Zionsville Autosport type #4 radiator.

Our engine oil cooler is twice the size of the factory unit. It fits the factory mounting points and factory hoses, so it requires no modifications to install. "It was a very hot day with air temps in the mid 90's, (during the test the air temp gauge in my car actually crept close to 100 degrees) so I took the opportunity to put the car through "simulated track" conditions with equal measures of acceleration to match the braking to see what the Oil temps would do. To make it a worst case scenario I also ran with the AC on, which I would never do on the track.

Under normal driving around town stop and go, with the AC off then on the oil temps now read from 180 to 195, before around 200 to 210. During the "simulated track conditions" test with the AC running the oil temp maxed out at 230 mostly running around 220. Under these worse case conditions it would have reached 280 or more before.

The oil temp also came back down a lot quicker than before and took longer to climb to begin with. Overall much more stable and predictable.

The Zionsville Extra Capacity oil cooler has done the trick and dropped my oil temp by good measure:
10-20 degrees lower normal operation
40-50 degrees lower during my "simulated track" test / worst case scenario.

I'm very pleased with the results and highly recommend this cooler as an upgrade to anyone who might benefit from lower oil temps."
